Our Cleaning Steps Process
Pre-Inspection: We assess the condition of reach rug. First, we look for fading, discoloration, stains, wear, pre existing damage, color instability and odors. Next, we determine the appropriate cleaning procedure to be used. (See note below)
Dusting: Dust, dirt, and particulate matter lying deep within the rug are removed using compressed air and specially designed tools. This step is often referred to as “air washing” or “dusting” of the rug. Vacuuming, shaking, or beating of the rugs are not nearly as effective.
Pre-Treatment: Spots, spills and stains are pre-treated using the most advanced spotting techniques and chemicals. This pre-conditions stains allowing them to be removed by the cleaning process.
Cleaning: The entire carpet is hand washed or dry cleaned, depending on your rug type. Traffic and heavily soiled areas are worked on using specially designed equipment. This involves a process of agitating, dissolving, and extracting the ground in soils. (Unfortunately, discoloration due to wear, fading, or chemical reactions not reversible.)
Rinsing: This further removes soil and cleaning residue helping to restore the natural feel.
Restoration: The rug’s surface is combed with special grooming tools restoring its natural look.
Drying: The rugs are dried in our climate controlled drying room. Blowers are also placed to keep dry air circulating around the rug. Drying time is usually less than 24 hours.
Final Inspection: We maintain the highest quality standards, so our inspection process is thorough. We don’t hesitate to repeat any steps that might be necessary to provide you with the cleanest rug possible. It’s that final touch that means so much.
*NOTE: During step #1, pre-inspection ““ we may determine that additional steps beyond standard cleaning are necessary to restore your rug to its best possible appearance. Standard cleaning is done at our normal or quoted price. Unusually heavily soiled rugs, excessive spotting, by-hand cleaning, deodorization, and situations that require extra labor or materials may require an additional charge.
