The Story Behind Riviera Beach

Riviera Beach was first known as Oak Lawn, and Judge Allen Heyser renamed it Riviera in 1893. Charles Newcomb bought the Riviera Hotel in 1901, and famous winter visitors came to stay. Fishing also shaped the town. In the 1920s, Riviera Beach was one of the largest fish suppliers on Florida’s east coast. The town was incorporated in 1922.

Steps Used to Expertly Clean Oriental and Area Rugs

Pre-Inspection: We assess the condition of each rug. First, we look for fading, discoloration, stains, wear, pre existing damage, color instability and odors. Then we choose the right cleaning procedure. (See note below)

Dusting: Foot traffic and dry soil can act like sandpaper on the fiber. We remove dust and particles lying deep within the rug with compressed air and specially designed tools. This step is often referred to as “air washing” or “dusting” of the rug. Vacuuming, shaking, or beating of the rugs are not nearly as effective.

Pre-Treatment: Next, we treat spots, spills and stains with advanced spotting techniques and chemicals.

Cleaning: Traffic and heavily soiled areas are worked on using specially designed equipment. This involves a process of agitating, dissolving, suspending and extracting the ground in soils. (Unfortunately, discoloration due to wear, fading, or chemical reactions not reversible.)

Rinsing: After that, we remove more soil and cleaning residue to restore the natural feel.

Restoration: Then we comb the nap with special grooming tools.

Drying: Finally, we dry the rugs in our climate controlled drying room. Drying time depends on the rug and the humidity.

Final Inspection. We maintain the highest quality standards, so our inspection process is thorough. We don’t hesitate to repeat any steps that might be necessary to provide you with the cleanest rug possible. It’s that final touch that means so much.

*NOTE: During step #1, pre-inspection ““ we may determine that additional steps beyond standard cleaning are necessary to restore your rug to its best possible appearance. Standard cleaning is done at our normal or quoted price. Unusually heavily soiled rugs, excessive spotting, by-hand cleaning, deodorization, and situations that require extra labor or materials may require an additional charge.
